Being a structural engineer, a bridge has always been something positive in my perspective. It was the symbol for two distant parts getting connected, for communication, exchange and transfer of what ever there might be. What I didnt realise until today, was the fact that a bridge also enables the transfer of threats and somehow I started to be able to relate to the term of burning down bridges in something strange like a self chosen isolation. At least an isolation to some extend. It seems that the concept even worked for fine for a whole country like Britain. At least as long as they did not had the Euro Tunnel ...
Now I only need to find my damn matches ...
